The Yes Before the Yes

I’ve been thinking about the word “yes” a lot lately.  I imagine myself waving all these white flags in the sky that say yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!  Instead I wave white flowers!

A lot of girls said "yes!" to marriage proposals over the holidays.  This is the yes that’s recognized and celebrated, but have you thought about the yes that was said first?  It probably wasn’t an audible yes, but it was grand.  It was the moment when the groom decided she was it — she was the one He loved and wanted to give his life for.

There is a yes before the yes, and it’s significant.

These flowers are a tangible result of me saying yes to Jesus.  Like the bride who said yes to a "yes" I said yes to Jesus when He asked me to quit my job and do flowers for Him.  With every bouquet I make, I see the beauty "yes" brings — Your promises and mine being fulfilled simultaneously.  As I watch your wedding day unfold with care and thought, when I see that look in the groom's eye and the sparkle in yours — it makes me think of Him.  I put another white flag in my hand and say "YES" to His "yes" all over again.
